Hightops and Heels aims to serve as a platform to unite the contemporary African diaspora. Through creative content development, journalism, interviews, visual art and music, we are the authentic reflection of the people. By taking ownership of our narrative, and teaching others to do the same, we intend to establish the counter-current to mainstream culture.

We walk to the same beat with two distinct strides. The art of living is a unique experience for each of us on the path of life. We’re showing you our journey, our transformation, our love… Each step is one toward HEALING, LIBERATION, RESTORATION, ELEVATION and EXPANSION. From the Hightops of our heads to the Heels of our feet, it is the path to embodiment.

Hightops and Heels Est.2012 is now a brand of the Tehuti Ma’at Association. Co-Founded in 2015 by Priscilla Amado and Preston Roundtree. Tehuti Ma’at serves as a resource mechanism to foster the political, social and economic empowerment of people of African ascent through healing, knowledge and implementation. Our areas of focus are: HEALING, EDUCATION and ART

Tehuti and Ma’at are actually our astrological signs. Tehuti is the scribe, MTU NTR (hieroglyphs), divine communication, intelligence – this is both the written and spoken word, as well as the visual arts. Ma’at is divine balance, cosmic harmony, reciprocity, truth, justice, righteousness. These two complimentary forces drive our work and activism.
